Battle of Las Piedras

The Battle of Las Piedras was fought on May 18, 1811, between the revolutionary forces led by José Gervasio Artigas and the Spanish royalist army commanded by General José Posadas. The encounter took place near Las Piedras, a town in the Canelones Department.
