In French-speaking Switzerland, Père Noël brings presents on Christmas Eve. Many families attend a midnight church service (Christmette). Advent calendars and wreaths are common. In rural areas, traditional singing groups perform carols. Traditional foods include Zimtsterne (cinnamon stars) and Basler Läckerli (gingerbread). Cities like Zurich and Basel hold Christmas markets with mulled wine and festive treats.
